Producer - Mad Sad and Bad

Reporting to: Senior Producer
Role Overview
The Producer is a key member of the production team at JamPot Productions, responsible for end-to-end podcast delivery across one of our interview format shows. This role involves developing editorial ideas, managing recordings, overseeing post-production, and ensuring high-quality output that aligns with the show’s voice and audience. The Producer works collaboratively with the Head of Content, Senior Producer, Assistant Producers, Social and Video teams, presenters and clients to shape engaging and original content.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Leadership
Take ownership of the assigned podcast, from planning through to delivery.
Shape editorial direction, tone, and structure of episodes in line with show objectives and audience expectations.
Lead on research, guest sourcing, briefing hosts and in-studio recordings
Production Management
Work with the Production Manager and Video team to plan and manage recordings for the assigned podcast.
Direct talent during recordings to ensure clarity, pace, and tone are appropriate.
Ensure all required release forms are completed ahead of each episode release.
Post-Production Oversight
Edit audio to a high-standard, and work with the video team to ensure they deliver high quality video edits.
Work with the Social and Video teams on social content including trailers and shoulder content to ensure they’re reflective of the whole episode and in-keeping with the show’s overall tone.
Monitor episode performance and feedback, and make editorial improvements accordingly.
Team Collaboration and Management
Work closely with the Senior Producer on editorial strategy and show development.
Provide guidance and day-to-day support to Assistant Producers and junior staff.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture in line with JamPot’s values.
Talent and Stakeholder Management
Manage talent to ensure that they feel engaged and valued throughout the production process.
Work with external partners as needed, especially to ensure commercial success of podcasts.
Ensure communication is professional, timely, and aligned with production goals.
Competent in reporting and analysing data on show level and implementing changes editorially when data suggests.
Contribute to post-project evaluations and continuous improvement processes
Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone with:
3-4 years experience producing interview podcasts for video podcasts.
Strong editorial judgment and the ability to shape an interview-format podcast
Excellent research, copy writing and interviewing skills.
Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering to tight deadlines.
Solid understanding of audio production workflows and podcast publishing processes.
Competency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Reaper, Pro Tools) and video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere)
Experience giving clear feedback to editors, hosts, and junior team members.
Familiarity with analytics, audience engagement strategies, and platform trends is a plus.
Strong knowledge of the YouTube space, understand how to make a show that translates across video and audio.
